    Ideas for a Royal Wedding

    November 17th, 2010 | Design Details, News/Press | 1 Comment

Here at Dream Occasions we are very excited about the future Royal wedding next year. In between radio interviews giving our view, we have been pondering what style William & Kate will choose for their wedding design. It wouldn’t surprise me if she used elements of past Royal weddings whilst mixing with a modern touch.

Kate is so incredibly poised and elegant, it makes sense she will choose an equally elegant dress to show of her amazing figure. One British designer whose style would match Kate is Madeline Isaac-James. One dress in particular called Theda is a gown inspired by the timeless style of the Art Deco period.  Finished in silk chiffon, this gorgeous gown features intricate crystal beading around the bodice, providing a subtle sparkle.  This gown will work beautifully with a chapel or cathedral length heirloom veil, and whilst a traditional Royal tiara would look incredible, this dress would work equally well with a modern styled side headpiece although we would expect Kate to commission a piece from heirloom Royal jewels to create her very own, unique piece – set to become a Royal heirloom in its own right!

One thing is certain, whatever style she chooses it will be the most copied dress for years to come…

Watch out for future posts over the next few days with possible choices for cake, stationery and entertainment.

    A Royal Wedding!

    November 16th, 2010 | News/Press | 0 Comments

I am so excited to hear the news that Kate Middleton and Prince William will marry next year. It’s about time we had a Royal wedding to speculate about. I wonder when they will get married and what theme will Kate go for? Will she wear an elegant vintage lace dress or go wild with an intricate dress and long train? I will work on a mood board to be uploaded this week but in the meantime here is the official statement.

The Prince of Wales is delighted to announce the engagement of Prince William to Miss Catherine Middleton.

The wedding will take place in the Spring or Summer of 2011, in London. Further details about the wedding day will be announced in due course.

Prince William and Miss Middleton became engaged in October during a private holiday in Kenya.

Prince William has informed The Queen and other close members of his family. Prince William has also sought the permission of Miss Middleton’s father.

Following the marriage, the couple will live in north Wales, where Prince William will continue to serve with the Royal Air Force.

I wonder if they will have a marquee wedding? If so they better book me quick :)
