    Venue Focus: Gosfield Hall

    June 16th, 2009 | venues, Weddings | 0 Comments

Each month we highlight one of the beautiful venues we have worked at or particularly love, in and around East Anglia. Today we explore Gosfield Hall in Essex.

    Gosfield Hall

    Gosfield Hall

    History

Gosfield Hall is a stunning Georgian manor house built in 1545 and was once a Royal residence boasting a long history of noble connections. Queen Elizabeth I visited in the 16th century and during the French Revolution it was the home of King Louis XVIII.

    Present Day

Gosfield Hall is offered only on an exclusive basis meaning there will be no other brides wandering round on your wedding day. The interior is incredibly grand and decadent perfect for creating a dream day for a brides wedding. The mansion is set amongst 10 acres of parkland although amazingly only an hours away from London making it a perfect location.

    Ceremony

Ceremonies take place in the Queens Gallery which is truly stunning; it has a 120ft aisle ensuring the brides gets to make a dramatic entrance. Alternatively the carriageway outside is now licensed ideal for summer weddings.

    Receptions

The wedding breakfast takes place in the ballroom for 116 guests. The room has polished floors, panelled walls, crystal chandeliers, elegant fireplace and the most amazing ceiling. The room exudes luxury. All catering is done in house.

    Evening

Gosfield Hall can accommodate 200 guests in the evening. Normally this takes place in the library, disco area and private cocktail bar.

    Accommodation

There are 21 rooms available at Gosfield for the bride & groom and close family and friends.

The costs vary throughout the year and they have some brilliant late deals  keep checking their offers. When reviewing the costs bear in mind:

    • Hire charge
    • Ceremony cost
    • Food & drink
    • Min numbers that need to be accounted for

You also get the services of their in-house co-ordinators from about 12 weeks before the wedding, they are very organised and experienced as they organise weddings pretty much daily. Should you require a wow factor for your wedding or literally do not have time to organise an exquisite event give me a call as I would be delighted to assist you. Venue Focus – Vaulty Manor

    March 3rd, 2009 | Parties, Uncategorized, venues, Weddings | 2 Comments

In the first of a new monthly series exploring the venues I have worked in around East Anglia we are starting with Vaulty Manor in Essex where I have worked on a number of weddings.

    Baronial Hall - Vaulty Manor

    Baronial Hall – Vaulty Manor

    Description

16th Century Manor house with a renovated 17th century barn and new Baronial Hall surrounded by 12 acres of countryside, not a single neighbour in sight.

As you walk in the barn the bar is on the left (covered throughout ceremony).

Upstairs there is a gallery where the toilets are, on the gallery there is a piano at one end and soft seating on another.

Ceremonies take place in the listed barn for a maximum of 200, once the ceremony is finished you walk through to the restored barn with full length windows at the side and one end of the room with French doors leading onto the terrace. The room is very light and peaceful and overlooks cornfields. Recently they extended the hall allowing a sit down wedding breakfast for up to 250 guests; smaller weddings do not look lost as the room has a hidden and discreet wall thus reducing the size of the hall.

There is no hire charge but they do stipulate minimum numbers. A huge added bonus to Vaulty Manor is the exclusive accommodation on site for up to 80 guests. You are not required to book any of the rooms but having accommodation at stumbling distance for guests is normally appreciated!
